Axed X Factor hopeful John Adams slams ‘cruel’ show

John Adams has hit out at the X Factor judges’ decision not to put him through to the next round, suggesting that he may have been scrapped due to the lack of a back story.

The Welsh maths teacher wowed at auditions with his cover of Damien Rice ’s Cannonball, garnering incredibly positive verdicts from the judges.

Gary Barlow said: ‘John that is one of my favourite songs of all time, and I hate people singing my favourite songs, because it always lets me down… you absolutely nailed that vocal!’, while Tulisa Contostavlos added: ‘You have a beautiful tone…I think you’ve got a lot of potential.’

But the judges obviously decided that potential was not enough, when it was announced on Sunday that Adams would not be appearing at the judges’ houses.
