The headline event is probably Dan Brown in the NCH on the Monday May 20th. Who knows what secrets will be revealed in the NCH that night. If you’re looking for the meaning of life or the secrets of the universe, the NCH on Monday week is the place to be! Remember, don’t make fun of renowned Dan Brown.

– One half of ‘Everything but the Girl’ Tracy has led an interesting and varied life! She will be talking to Tony Clayton-Lea on her life, career and music today!

The Words on the Street – European Literature Night – mini festival runs tomorrow night (May 15th 2013) and is billed as “Twelve Countries, Twelve Voices, Twelve Venues, One Great Evening“. It’s basically twelve readings around Dublin (mostly Stephen’s Green) by authors of different nationalities, kind of a ‘My writers are better than yours’ moment between the various countries! Ok, it’s not very competitive, and is a lovely idea.

No, we haven’t lost it entirely, we’re not writing about Bloom festival in the Phoenix Park, this is something worth checking out and it’s music related, not plant related!
Youbloom – “To host over 50 international acts and 50 Irish acts in 5 different venues from 28 – 30 June 2013”
This is a festival aimed at promoting new bands and is set for Dublin in June. It will take over five of Dublin’s nicest small venues: Mercantile, Odessa, Workman’s Club, Grand Social and Twisted Pepper. Each venue will host an evening with a particular musical slant, jazz, indie, metal, reggae, electro etc, so you can settle in the one place and hear the best and brightest of Irish and International young things!
It was created as a development programme for unsigned artists, and as such will host a Music Conference! Yes, that’s right, a weekend of lectures about music…

Dance, dance, dance…shake that booty, dominate the dance floor! Yes, it’s the dance festival in Dublin this week, and it’s hard to sit still. It runs from the 14-26th of May, and full details are here.

I knOw yoU– IMMA Earlsfort Terrace – 19 April – 1st Sept 2013 – “I knOw yoU is a dynamic exhibition by a new generation of young European artists” or so says the blurb on the new exhibition in IMMA @ NCH (Earlsfort Terrace). It features the work of over 50 artists, so should be something for everyone! Quite looking forward to this one, Tino Sehgal also continues in the same venue.
