Set building today at Picton Castle, getting ready for three day’s worth of Halloween hauntings starting next Wednesday afternoon. This Beast Behind Bars is actually my mate Karl putting up our “Ghost Train”-style maze. If you’re able to come next week (and do come for the adult tours in the evening – much more fun!) watch out for our Seance Room, the Nasty Nursery and meet our Alien Invaders.
It was cold enough to chill the blood at Caerphilly Castle at the weekend – thank heavens for thermal underwear! Ten performances of a set of suitably chilling ghost stories proved incredibly popular despite the weather. Full marks to the audience for managing to sit still for half an hour at a time in sub zero temperatures and, on Sunday, with an added icy wind blowing through the performance space. Many thanks to CADW for inviting me to be part of their Christmas event.
Thanks to everyone at Derby Magic Circle for giving me such a warm welcome for my magic lecture on Wednesday night. Good to meet up with some old friends from the Nottingham Guild as well and get up-to-date with what’s been happening in the magic world in the East Midlands.
Watch this space for details of my next magic lecture.
Andrew Morrison, President of the Nottingham Guild of Magicians, has invited me to perform for them within the next few months. I am really looking forward to catching up with the club again. It is more than three years since I last attended a meeting there when they were kind enough to make me a Life Member. Andrew tells me that they have quite a few new members so my material will be completely news to a lot of them.
Great to meet members of The Storyteller Tree at the Tenby Story Cafe get together on Friday night. Sadly I had to leave before the end of their set (it was getting really late and i had an early start the nest day) but they brought a lively tag-team approach to telling tales from the Mabinogion. Find out more about them on their website http://www.storytellertree.org.uk. Hope i get the chance to catch up with them again sometime during the year – and I promise to stay to the end next time.
Still shivering after a day out in Llannelli with other entertainment providers promoting some of the best that our county has to offer- thank heavens for M&S thermal underwear!! Lots of lovely people picked up leaflets for the Creepy Carmarthen tours which begin again on Wednesday April 1st. The picture shows Radio Carmarthenshire presenter Helen Enser Morgan getting up close and personal with my pet skull.
Amazing first night of the new monthly storytelling evenings at The Plash Inn at Llanfallteg on the Carmarthenshire/Pembrokeshire border. Many thanks to Steve and Christie who turned the pub over to myself, Len & Leslie to entertain a packed and enthusiastic bar. The next scheduled storytelling night is on Tuesday 21st April – all storytellers and fans of the art welcome. Please contact me if you would like to tell a story that night.
Welcome back all you fashion addicts. Winter vacation is over and with that we all have to go back to reality. Some go back to work, and if you are like me you go back to university. BLEH.
To all my fellow final year students. CONGRATS! You’ve made it this far, now all you need to do is get through these final six months. A massive good luck to all!
